Shivapuri Peak (Baghdwar Cirucit Hike) || Hike Once A Month || Hike EP10
Travelling Nepal Tips is organizing monthly hiking in different trails around Kathmandu valley with the theme of #hikeonceamonth which means at least one hike in a month.
We have private transport to pick up from Lagankhel (Batuk Bhairab) at 7:00 am for an hour drive to Budhanilkantha(Panimuhan).
Overview of Shivapuri Hill:
Located in the Northern part of Kathmandu valley, Shivapuri Narjun National Park lies about 12 Kilometer away from the center of capital city. The Shivapuri hill is the second highest hill near Kathmandu valley at an altitude of 2563m. It is the origination point of revered rivers, Bagmati and Bishnumati. Sprawled over 159 Sq.km. with dense forests it is home to 177 species of birds, including at least 9 threatened species, 102 species of butterflies with a number of rare and endangered species, and 129 species of mushroom. Several surveys have recorded the existence of Indian Leopards, Himalayan Black bears, deer, wild boar and many other precious animals in the park. Shivapuri is also one of the famous bird watching sites around Kathmandu valley, which records over 170 species of the birds.

● Departure Time : 7:15 AM Sharp (We will not entertained late arrivals)

● Light trekking shoes(no heel shoes)
● Umbrella / Rain Coat
● Water (2 liter minimum)
● Hiking stick (optional)
● Energy Bars (optional)
(Note: we will carry general medicine for emergency)

Hiking Tips:
• Stretching your legs and body parts before and between the hike
• Drink just sip of water but frequently to avoid dehydration ( drinking too much at times gives you pain in the stomach)
• Eat light and healthy foods( avoid packet & junk foods)
• Give attention on Sun protection (wear full sleeve T shirt)
• Leg injury is very likely to occur, use ankle shoes with proper grip.
• Wear light and easily dry clothes (select full sleeve pants)
