If you are planning on short hiking near Kathmandu valley Nagarjuna Hill, Jamacho is the best option. Nagarjuna Hill, Jamacho is located at West of Kathmandu, the place is famous for rock climbing and bird watching tour and hikes. You need to hike uphill for near two hours in the midst of beautiful forest overlooking panoramic scenery of Kathmandu valley and distant peaks from Manaslu, Ganesh, Langtang, Jugal Himal to Gaurishanker towards east.

Start From : Fulbari Gate, raniban near balaju bypass
End At : Jamacho Gumba
Distance : 5km (one way, updown 10km)
Duration : 2.5 hour uphill and 1.5 hour downhill for average hikers
Ticket : Rs 50 per day for Nepali Citizen (Actually Rs 56 including 13% tax)
Speciality : forest way, nagarjun hill, Jamacho Gumba, Bichpau cave, Nagarjun shanti cave, bird watching and many more
Nagarjuna a view point hidden by the thick woods of rhododendron, oaks and pines with a small Buddhist monastery dedicated to Lord Guru Rinpoche also known as Padmasambhava and a view tower. It is said this mountain got its name as Nagarjuna because the sage Nagarjuna had resided in a cave in this place to meditate.
While you are set for the hike to he Nagarjun Hill, Please remember to take the needed things along with you. Please remember there are no cold store, no cafe, no restaurant and no shops. So, please take the water and dry foods and other need things along with you.
